Live on Zoom
This opening session in our Neurodiversity Series introduces the broad spectrum of neurodiversity through a strengths-based lens. Instead of focusing on deficits or labels, we’ll explore the unique capabilities and perspectives that neurodivergent colleagues and students bring to library life.
Together, we’ll challenge common myths, reflect on our own working preferences using The User Guide to You, and build awareness of how difference drives creativity, focus, and innovation.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
Understand the concept of neurodiversity as natural human variation.
Recognise and celebrate the strengths associated with different neurotypes.
Identify and reflect on personal working preferences using The User Guide to You.
Begin to shift from a deficit model to a strengths-led approach in their practice.
Half-day live, interactive workshop
Mix of group discussion, reflective exercises, and practical tools
Workbook provided for personal reflection and team application
Recording available for 12 months
Neurodiversity is a natural part of human variation. A strengths-led approach begins with awareness—of ourselves, of others, and of the unique contributions difference brings.
