CARaL is the first programme designed to thaw the chill.

It brings together the technical expertise of Jane Secker and Chris Morrison (UK Copyright Literacy) with the radical kindness, wellbeing and leadership framework of Helen Rimmer (The Kind Brave Leader).

Together, they offer a path away from isolated anxiety and toward a culture of informed, collective confidence.

The CARaL Roadmap

Four live 90-minute sessions. Tuesdays, 2:00pm – 3:30pm UK Time.

1. Decoding the Anxiety (6th October) We look at why copyright feels so high-stakes and how "Legal Chill" manifests in your work. We begin the shift from individual fear to shared understanding.

2. Building Resilience & Kindness (20th October) Using Helen Rimmer’s Kindness framework, we explore how to manage the emotional weight of copyright and protect your own wellbeing (and your team's) while navigating law and policy.

3. Practicing Brave Leadership (3rd November) Leadership isn't a job title it’s an action. We look at how to make calm, reflective decisions and how to support others in making them, too.

4. Creating a Sustainable Culture (17th November) How do we make this stick? We provide practical frameworks for shared language, risk assessment, and building a culture where "I don't know, let's find out" is a safe and supported answer.

Jane Secker & Chris Morrison are the architects of the UK’s most engaging copyright resources. They believe that copyright doesn't have to be dry or scary, it can be an empowering tool for the profession.

Helen Rimmer is the author of The Kind Librarian. She specialises in helping individuals and leaders build psychological safety and resilience, ensuring that kindness remains at the heart of professional excellence.
