About the session: This interactive 3.5 hour workshop explores how we can respond with courage and care when we witness behaviour that doesn’t sit right. You’ll learn how to recognise potential harm, safely intervene, and play your part in building a culture of respect and accountability.

We’ll explore:

What stops people from speaking up — and how to overcome those barriers

Simple, practical intervention techniques that keep everyone safe

How to de-escalate and support those affected

The importance of allyship, empathy, and shared responsibility

Ways to create a kinder, more respectful culture within your team or community

The focus is on empowerment rather than blame, helping each of us act confidently and compassionately when faced with difficult moments.

About the facilitator: Shaneen Verma-Kainth is an accomplished training consultant specialising in mental health, wellbeing, risk management, and sexual misconduct. With a background in Criminology, Criminal Justice, and Psychology, she draws on extensive frontline experience from roles at the Metropolitan Police Service, Youth Offending Service, Victim Support, and Hestia, supporting vulnerable adults and children through statutory services.
